Frisco Is a Story Worth Telling

You can build a podcast about anything. I chose to point mine at my own city.

Frisco, Texas. Some people know it for the sports and the growth and the fact that it seems to sprout a new neighborhood every time you blink. All of that is true. But that's not the story I'm after. The story I'm after is the people. The ones building something here. The ones who moved their whole life to this town on a bet that it would be worth it. The quiet ones doing the work nobody claps for.

Every city is full of people who will never get a microphone. They run the businesses, coach the teams, serve the meals, raise the kids, and hold the whole thing together without a single person telling their story back to them. I think that's a shame. I think a city is only as strong as the stories it bothers to remember.

So I point the microphone here. At home. Not because Frisco is more important than anywhere else, but because it's mine, and because I believe the person two streets over has a story that would stop you cold if anybody ever asked them for it.

That's really what all of this is about. Everybody has a story worth telling. Most of them just never get asked. I decided to start asking, and I decided to start in my own backyard.

Frisco raised a chapter of my life. The least I can do is point the light back at it and let the people who make it what it is get heard.

This is my city. These are my people. Their stories deserve a room.
